I live with my wife, Iris, in Miami Beach. I retired from Intel in early 2001. Since then, we have been doing a lot of travelling. We have 2 grown kids. Our daughter, Lisa, now works in London in the Financial Services industry. Our son, Gregg, lives with his wife, Danae, in Orlando. Gregg and Danae have 2 kids, Ender and Alanna. Pictures of them and some of our recent trips can be found here. Also, some of our trip videos are here.
I’m going to be doing different kinds of posts starting on April 18, 2009. The title of each will begin with a keyword or acronym with the following meanings:
Market. This will typically be a weekly comment on the status of the market, emphasizing Lowry and Mauldin, with a personal bias.
Economy. Occasionally, I find some interesting observations on the state of the national and world economies. I will pass some of these on, often, with my views.
Tech. Although I retired from Intel in 2001 (see Work Bio), I have kept abreast of developments in the PC industry, in particular with Intel and AMD roadmaps and financials. In April 2009, I have also started to do a little consulting.
OTOH. This stands for “On the Other Hand”. Mainstream news media often focus on one aspect of a story. I sometimes come across an alternative perspective that I find interesting. I will pass this on.
BKM. This stands for “Best Known Method”. Organizations (in particular, our government) overlook solutions to problems that others have used effectively. Such solutions are not adopted for a multiplicity of reasons, e.g. NIH (not invented here), Politics, stupidity, or all of the above.
Travel. Iris and I travel frequently. This may be a travel tip from past travels, or simply about what we have done recently.
Health. Since we are retired, we spend a lot of time on the internet and find interesting health issues/tips that influence us. I will share some of these.
